The mountains are still calling! For one last endurance ride before we break for PAA’s Summer of Love CSR, we’ll head from Sierra Madre through scenic neighborhoods you may recall from our first WE Ride. We’ll then climb Hwy 39 to a road (closed to cars) that meanders along the West Fork of the San Gabriel river to the Cogswell Dam. This road was recently reopened after fire damage along the watershed and is in good condition for cycling. A couple notes of caution: (1) please check the ridewithgps route, a caution note is pinned there for the left turn at the end of our climb up Hwy 39; (2) once on the road along the West Fork there is some minor road debris (small rocks and large construction plates).
Segment challenge returns! Morgan has more PAA water bottles to give away, so best female and best male times up the Hwy 39 climb can claim one. Segment details are below.
