This is a fun and challenging ride.  You will get to enjoy a ride around Strawberry Peak to the back side of the range when you take Angeles Forest Highway leading away from Clear Creek.  The ride meanders on long rollers and then uphill along Upper Big T until you see Angels Crest highway off in the distance look forward to the last ascent,  it’s tough but exhilerating when you get to the top.  Then only one sector to go for another yummy PAA lunch and time to hang out with your friends old and new

PAA Cycling Club’s April 2018 Supported Ride revisits our traditional route but with a twist! As the ride is sponsored by InCycle Bicycles it will begin and end at their San Dimas store to thank them for their continuing support of the club.

The Baldy Epic 2018 remains a challenging ride but one that all of the 67 riders who started last year finished with an individual sense of victory. From InCycle we ride through Bonelli Park circling it’s beautiful lake and warming up our legs for the adventure ahead.

PAA Cycling - Summer Of Love RideJuly 14 – Summer of Love

Glendale to Santa Barbara, Amtrak return.

The Route has been slightly re-worked to make it more enjoyable along the 118 away from the dairy trucks!  It will now be just over 100 miles, so you can chalk up another Century ride to your 2018 list!

We finish in Santa Barbara, load the bikes onto the PAA supplied transport truck and you are at ease, to enjoy friends and poke around, until the train leaves back to the Glendale station, where the transport truck will await you.   A good plan that has worked many times.

August 11 – Bear Divide

PAA’s 2018 August supported ride takes riders through a part of the San Gabriels Mountains a little less traveled. The start location leaves Lake View Terrace Rec Center to Little Tujunga Canyon Road through the mountain peak known as Bear Divide. Riders have the option to climb to Camp 9 for an additional 1200 feet of climbing, adding about 8 miles roundtrip. From Bear Divide, the ride traverses through Sand Canyon to Placerita Canyon making our way to Magic Mountain area. We won’t go on any of its rollers, the ride will make its way back through Foothill Blvd back to Lake View Terrace Rec Center.

September 16 – Franco Ride

Sponsored by Franco Bicycles.

This is a 73 mile challenging course with a bail out option at mile 30 (for a total of 50 miles) where Mulholland intersects with the 23.

There will be two SAG stops. One feed station on top of the Mulholland Climb and the second feed station at the first summit of the Latigo Climb. Lunch will be served at the end of the ride back at Franco Bikes.

October TBD – Tour de Acton / Mill Creek Summit

Sponsored by Incycle

Join your fellow PAA riders and friends for a big, challenging loop along some of the most beautiful roads in the Angeles National Forest. Back by popular demand (same route as December 2014 ride), the route will be a tough, but rewarding day in the saddle. We will climb up to Clear Creek from Descanso, then head out along Angeles Forest Highway to Mill Creek Summit. Once over the summit, we head down Aliso Canyon to Soledad canyon Rd. and back to Sand Canyon, MOST OF THIS SECTION IS DOWNHILL, then there are two short climbs, to Bear Divide and Big Tujunga, before the return along Foothhill to Descanso, this has some climbing, but we’re mostly done!
