About this event

WE-Ride for Saturday, September 28: Two Dams, from Descanso Gardens. Starting time 8:00 AM

This weekend, we turn to the west side of our range to enjoy Big T and Hansen Dam on our Two Dams route. Starting in front of Descanso Gardens, the ride climbs to the La Crescenta Highlands and cuts across to Big T, going up to the dam overlook (Dam #1). After descending Big T and a coffee stop (with water and restroom opportunities) at our favorite Backdoor Bakery & Café in Sunland, we take a scenic loop around the Tujunga Creek settling grounds created by Hansen Dam (Dam #2), before climbing back up to the La Crescenta saddle via the back roads at the foot of the Verdugos.

Please keep the following in mind when joining the WE Rides:

• Download the route prior to arrival.

• Be self-sufficient, prepared to handle flats and minor bike repairs.

• Carry a cell phone in case of emergency or to get that Uber ride needed every once in a while. (Be aware, however, that cell phone reception on many WE-ride routes in the San Gabriel Mountains is very limited).
