Beach loop from Peck Park
Many of you climbed the relentless grade to Crystal Lake last week. Now it’s time to rack up some fast, easy miles to the beach and back.
This route from starts from Peck Park in Arcadia. Car access is from Peck Road, and you will find parking, restrooms, and water at the park. Since mornings are still cool and dark, we’ll start at 9:00 AM.
The route first heads east to the San Gabriel River Trail, which takes us all the way to Seal Beach. Traversing along the coast to Long Beach, we return via the LA River and the Rio Hondo bike paths. We stop for coffee in Seal Beach and for photo-opportunities in Long Beach Harbor (Queen Mary, now refurbished and open for overnight stays).
