Note that there is NO SAG STOP on this ride. This is due to the nature and terrain of this ride, plan accordingly. Lunch will still be provided.
This Club Supported Dirt Ride (CSDR) will be an MTB ride.
Join us on September 9, 2023 for the next PAA club supported dirt ride at Tapia Canyon. We will meet at Castaic Sports Complex for the short pedal to the trail head where we will almost immediately turn on to the single track trails of Sesame Street and Downtown (Blue, one very short section with exposure) before rejoining Tapia Canyon Road and the climb up to the main hub. From here the views are great and we can chose our poison – Top Dog/Dog Tag (a personal favorite), Stars and Stripes, Burn Victim (all blues) all radiate out from here and all link into Karls (blue) before spitting us out on the fire road for the climb back up to the top to enable us to rinse and repeat. The PAA single track party train will be in full effect.
For more adventurous riders, we will turn off the fire road at the bottom of Karls and climb up (very steep in places) to the ridge and the Junkyard ridge line (black) - first lap only.
To close, more adventurous riders will head north to ride Sidewinder (blue) whereas others may elect to head straight back. Both groups will pedal the last mile along Tapia Canyon Road and back to lunch, high fives and a celebratory beverage.
We know there are birthday’s on the day of this CSDR so expect the stoke to be high!

Things To Remember:
- All riders should be prepared to do minor repairs on the trail (e.g., fix a flat)
- Due to the challenging nature of most club supported rides, groups will invariably form and split up en route depending on riders levels of fitness, training goals, etc.
- For your safety, a helmet is mandatory on PAA rides. Pads are optional. This ride is not particularly rocky or exposed compared to many socal MTB areas, but trail hazards still exist.
- Check the forum and event page before the ride, in case of inclement weather which may result in a change of the route or cancellation of the event.
- Guests are welcome, but must also RSVP (guest ticket), sign a ride waiver, and make a $20 donation.
- PAA welcomes E-bike riders on the club supported dirt rides, however not all trails allow e-bike access. It is the responsibility of the rider to determine and comply with any access restrictions that may be in force.
- Did I say no sag? Just in case - there is NO SAG on this ride.
