This Club Supported Dirt Ride (CSDR) is a Gravel focused ride with a mix of about 50% dirt and 50% paved roads. We will start at clear creek and follow Angeles Forest Highway rolling up to Monte Cristo Campground. Here we will leave the paved roads behind and start climbing up towards Mill Creek Summit (get some water if you need it). At the 'summit' we will continue up the switchbacks and get a short reprieve before finishing climbing to the highest point on the ride, Mt Pacifico. Make sure to enjoy the beautiful views before descending! With much of the climbing out of the way its a fast descent into Chilao where you can restock on supplies from the SAG. In true gravel spirit we take one more detour to go around Mt Mooney and then follow Angeles Crest Highway back to Clear Creek for lunch.
We have two start times, please roll with the one that most suits your level:
8:00am Group - Aimed for less experienced gravel riders: you will be more cautious at descending and tackling trail obstacles.
8:30am Group - Aimed at
more experienced gravel riders: you will feel more comfortable at
descending and tackling trail obstacles.
You do not need to notify the organizers of which group you want to roll with, just turn up to roll with your preferred group.
