February’s PAA WoW ride will finally take us to one of the most picturesque areas of the San Gabriel Valley, Glendora Mountain Road or GMR as it is commonly known as. Or, should we rather say, Glorious Mountain Road, for if you have not climbed GMR, it is a must. If you are used to climbing, you will be thrilled to go, if you do not care much for climbing, the scenery of the Sierra peaks will thrill you despite the steady incline for 10 miles at no more than 9% incline. Park at the base on Sierra Madre Avenue and Glendora Mountain Road for an immediate climb to the “Shack”, a utility shed, for about 2,454 feet of elevation. Here you can turn around for an exhilarating descent and complete your journey in under two hours. https://www.strava.com/routes/2789233691854708252  (The Strava route reports its 3,198 ft, but that is incorrect. It's only 2,454 ft roundtrip). Thank you to Clare Ceplecha for the route this month!
