Our May WOW adventure begins with an easy drive to Ventura and a scenic bike ride from San Buenaventura State Beach inland to the lovely town of Ojai. The first three miles take you North along the ocean’s edge on the Coastal Bikeway. The next few miles of trail lead inland and connect with the Ojai-Ventura Bike Path. Follow this flat and meandering bike path (never over 2% grade) until you reach Foster park (approx. 9 miles from the beginning).

At Foster Park, either continue straight along the bike trail or turn left, ditching the bike trail and head North to Santa Ana Road for some nice rolling hills. Either route, through Fraiser Park or Santa Ana Road take you approximately 9 more miles and lead you into the darling town of Ojai. Exit the Bike trail at Montgomery Avenue. There is a large bike rack at the Ojai Cafe Emporium (108 S. Montgomery St). Perhaps you want to "park" your bike here and find a yummy snack at one of the nearby coffee shops or restaurants. The descent to Ventura will be on the Ojai Ventura Bike Trail. After returning to Ventura, if you are not in a big hurry to get back to Pasadena, there are a lot of fun things to do…browsing on main street, chilling on the beach/boardwalk, biking further up the coast for some very scenic views, etc.

The route starts from San Pedro Street (parking is free next to the Marriott Hotel) in Ventura to Downtown Ojai and back https://www.strava.com/routes/2802323595396606962 is 36 miles with 1,000 ft. Thank you to Debbie Mitchell for the route.
