By Registering you agree to be bound by PAA COVID PROTOCOL

PAA CLUB GROUP RIDE PROTOCOL
We are a community thinking about our members and careful riding

PAA PERSPECTIVE:

  • All PAA organized activities are to comply with current Federal, State and local regulations and laws as well as current CDC guidelines.  These have changed with short notice in the past and this could mean changing or cancelling rides with short notice.  If requirements change and alterations to PAA organized events are required to comply, the membership will be notified without hesitation.
  • PAA is not a group of medical professionals and all guidelines provided below are based on research and information gathered from the CDC and other public health authorities.
  • PAA will do its best to provide up-to-date and continuous safety information for outdoor riding and abide by all CDC provided guidelines.
  • Safety regarding COVID 19 is the primary consideration for all points and policies below.

Each rider is responsible for their own actions.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO JOIN ON A RIDE, PLEASE CONSIDER THESE SAFETY RULES:

YOU MUST STAY HOME IF:

  • You have been tested and are positive for COVID-19.
  • You have been tested for COVID-19 but have not yet received results.
  • You or anyone in your household are experiencing any symptoms associated with COVID-19, including a fever or any other symptom identified on the CDC’s website.
  • You have been in close contact with someone who is suspected of being infected, or confirmed to be infected with COVID-19.
  • You have been outside the country within the last 2 weeks.

PREPARATIONS BEFORE THE RIDE:

  • No route slips will be provided. Please download the route in advance and get familiar with the course.
  • Bring extra food and water, spare tubes and tools to make your own repairs
  • Bring sanitizer spray or wipes for your protection.
  • All Members and their guest(s) must register for the ride online and agree to the waiver and the PAA COVID-19 protocol – there will be no on-site registration.

ARRIVAL AND START ON RIDE DAY:

  • Riders must wear a facemask and practice 6’ of social distancing while gathering and preparing for the start of the ride.
  • Upon arrival your temperature will be taken by SAG member.  If you have a temperature of 100.4 F or higher, you will not be permitted to ride.
  • There will be a pre-ride briefing in small groups away from the Parking area
  • It is anticipated there will be staggered starts.  In order to prevent large group clusters to form while passing, we will have 3 starting times namely as follows:
    • Fast riders go first
    • medium pace riders go second
    • slow riders leave last
  • Everyone must wear their face covering until they spread out at least 6’.
  • You may remove your face covering while riding farther than 6’ from other riders.
  • If riders do not stay 6’ apart it is best to drop back or ride away as this will assure your ability to ride safely,  or ask your riding buddies to spread out.

DURING YOUR RIDE:

  • Keep a minimum of 6’ of buffer around you. It is not recommended to draft the rider in front of you.
  • Practice good hygiene at all times, including regular use of hand sanitizer.
  • No snot rockets or spitting! Use a handkerchief.
  • Passing:
    • Give notice
    • Keep side distance
    • Pass quickly

SAG SUPPORT:

All CSR rides are supported by dedicated SAG team members. For everyone’s safety we have made the following adjustments to provide continuous support:

Riders change their expectation from complex to simple support, slow down and relax at SAG stop. If you are out of breath, stay away from the SAG station until your breathing slows and is safe to be around others.

  • SAG staff will be provided PPE, and will wear face coverings and gloves. They will also go through a debriefing on current CDC guidelines prior to the event.
  • All Riders must wear face covering at SAG stops (and any re-grouping points).

·Limited Nutrition: individual packages will be laid out 8” apart, riders may take up to 2 pieces only.

·Water: Single Serve bottles will be available, which will be handed to each rider, or laid out at a minimum of 8” apart

·Trash: Riders carry their trash in their jersey pocket home with them.

·SAG staff will have face coverings available if needed.

·Please no lingering at the sag stops. A quick stop and go will prevent large clusters of riders.

RIDE FINISH

  • All riders must wear face coverings at the finish of the ride.
  • Lunch may be provided if we have a safe location. All meals will be wrapped individually, and steps for safe pickup, handling and throw away will be followed.
  • Riders must wear a facemask and practice 6’ of social distancing before and after eating and while talking with other riders about the ride.
  • Post pictures and stories on the PAA website to share with friends.

AFTER THE RIDE

  • All riders must agree that if within 14 days following the ride they exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 or are diagnosed with COVID-19 they will notify a PAA Board Member.
  • If a rider or employee notifies PAA that they have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or have symptoms of COVID-19, all participants of the ride will be notified, without identifying the diagnosed person. All participants agree that if they are so notified, they will self-quarantine for 14 days.
  • We will follow the 15-day standard for COVID-19 contact tracing. For those of us who are fully vaccinated, is this policy intended to supersede the current federal/state/local self-quarantine guidelines for fully vaccinated persons, which are substantially less strict? (links to current LADPH order and to current CDC guidelines). Specifically, current self-quarantine guidelines exempt fully vaccinated persons as long as they remain asymptomatic.

  • Failure to follow these guidelines will result in the violator being subject to a ban from participation in PAA events, through the end of the year. This will be strictly enforced.
