We are excited to announce the inaugural Club Supported Dirt Ride (CSDR)! The ride will be gravel bike focused (we do plan to do MTB rides in future) and take in some great gravel friendly areas - Ebey Canyon, the Graveyard Truck Trail and the Verdugos. Meeting at Descanso Gardens in La Canada (note change from original location), we will take the road for 6miles, climbing up to the start of the first gravel sector - Graveyard Truck Trail which is a fantastic rolling trail with great views. This will take us on rolling terrain and then down to Big Tujunga Canyon Rd where we will head down towards SAG 1, which is located at the turn out from Big Tujunga Canyon Rd at Oro Vista. Following refuel, we will climb up through the gated development of Oro Vista (bike access is permitted) and access the Ebey Canyon trail system for a short loop, exiting back out the way we came to SAG 2 (same location as SAG 1). After we are refreshed we will take small streets (to avoid Foothill) over to the dirt climb of La Tuna and up on to the Verdugos. Regrouping at the top of the climb we will then take the Verdugo motorway along the ridgeline before dropping steeply down Beaudry North to Montrose and on to Montrose Community Park for lunch (note changed location) where the ride ends. If you have parked at the start it is a short ride back to Descanso from this location.
We plan to have two start times, please roll with the one that most suits your level: 8:00am Group - Aimed for less experienced gravel riders: you will be more cautious at descending and tackling trail obstacles. 8:30am Group - Aimed at more experienced gravel riders: you will feel more comfortable at descending and tackling trail obstacles.
