About this event

Join us for October's Club Supported Ride (CSR): Cloudburst on Saturday, October 10 for a fun and challenging day in the Angeles National Forest! We'll climb up from Descanso Gardens, past Clear Creek, stop at Red Box for water, and finally make our way to Cloudburst summit. The views are epic. You won't want to miss this one!

Feel free to ride as much or as little as you like. You can turnaround any time along the route and head back. Lunch will be served at Red Box on the descent. Please note the times of the SAG stops and lunch below.

Friendly reminder: We order lunch based on the number of people who sign up. If you sign up and don’t show, we end up with extra food that goes to waste—it’s not only costly but also wasteful. If your plans change, please remember to cancel before Thursday, October 8 at 1 p.m. (Members: sign in to your account, go to event page and Cancel Registration; Guests: Please contact us via email.)


SAG LOCATIONS & TIMES
SAG 1: Clear Creek (Ascent) at ~11 miles; SAG volunteer will be there between 8:45 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.
SAG 2: Cloudburst Summit at ~33 miles; SAG volunteer will be there between 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Lunch: Red Box (Descent) ~17 miles from Cloudburst to Red Box; Lunch will be served from 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

GUESTS ARE WELCOME
We welcome guests to join us on our rides! Each Club Supported ride is $20 for guests (whether or not you plan to eat lunch), except for the Summer of Love Ride. Guests are asked to register online prior to the morning of the ride, sign the waiver, and pay the guest fee. If registration has closed, you may still sign up on the morning of the ride (on select rides); however, payment is required at check-in—please do not arrive without your $20 guest fee. Payment can be made via Zelle, Venmo, or cash.


REGISTER/CANCEL REGISTRATION

Please Register for each of our rides as we use the number registered to buy lunch. If you can't make the ride (after registering), please Cancel Registration through the event page (Guests please contact us directly). When we buy food for 100 people registered, but only 60 people show up, we have a lot of wasted food and it cuts into our budgets. By registering, you also sign the mandatory waiver.

If you don't register and show up the morning of the ride, not only does it slow down the process of marking attendance (as you must sign a waiver), but we can't get an accurate headcount for lunch.


PLEASE NOTE

- All riders should be prepared to do minor repairs on the road (e.g., change a flat)
- Due to the challenging nature of most club supported rides, groups will invariably form and split up en route depending on riders levels of fitness, training goals, etc. 
- For your safety, helmet is mandatory on PAA rides. 
- Inclement weather or road closures may result in a change of the route or cancellation of event.
- Our SAGs will be actively sweeping for riders in need of support. Please make a note of all stops to ensure you are aware of the route and layout of mileage and elevation.
